St. Lucia Travel Guide

St. Lucia is one of those islands that you always see pictures of and fantasize going to, but never know if you'll really make it. Let me be the first to tell you, it is 100% possible. Here's what you need to know before you go.

Native Language: English

Currency: ECD - Eastern Caribbean Dollar

Currency Exchange: $0.37 USD to $1 ECD

Best Way To Get Around: Taxi (especially if you’ve never driven in the left side)

Avg Gas Price: $5 USD

THE HARBOR CLUB

Where you stay is always important and I had the privilege of staying at The Harbor Club by Hilton. The pool alone was phenomenal but the view from the pool made it even better. There’s ample outdoor eating areas which I love. Whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner there was always an outdoor dining option available.

One of my favorite highlights of this property is being right on the harbor. If you’ve been around for awhile, you know I love being on the water and on a boat. We had a really fun excursion to Pigeon Island that our hotel concierge put together quickly mid-day. We were able to jet ski directly back to our hotel and I have to say that was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. Waking up every morning and seeing all of the boats and the sun glistening off the water was perfect. Typically the pictures you see of St. Lucia are on the south side but The Harbor Club is located on the north side and give you even more of a luxury experience.

Some of my favorite locations on the property were:

  • Julia’s : The restaurant on the first floor that we had breakfast at every morning. We sat at the same table for every meal, looking over the boats, mountains and water. They serve all meals, as well.

  • The cabanas at the pool. There are 3 levers to the pool plus private swim out rooms. There’s also a swim up bar.

  • The rooftop Sky Lounge. I love a rooftop. There is a large day bed on one side and the views from up there are breathtaking.

  • 14° North: This restaurant was on the top floor and once again, the service never let me down for a second. There are floor to ceiling windows so you can still see the harbor and the mountains.
